Gather up one or more slides from existing PowerPoint presentations to add to the one you're working on now.
Import slides from another presentation to the current one
Important:Â Important:Â Reuse Slides will be retired starting on January 1, 2026. After that, you can use the copy & paste method.

In the thumbnail pane on the left, select the slide after which you want to insert the imported slides.

On the Home tab, select the down arrow by New Slide and choose Reuse Slides.
The Reuse Slides pane opens on the right. Your recent presentations are shown.

Select a presentation from the list to see the individual slides in it.

Select a slide thumbnail to copy it into the current presentation.
By default, an imported slide keeps the colors and formatting of the presentation it comes from.

When you're done importing slides from the selected presentation, you can close the pane or search for other slides to import.

There are three formatting options are available. When a slide is inserted, it appears in the thumbnail pane on the left and a pop-up menu appears on the thumbnail.

Use Destination Theme
The imported slide adopts the color scheme and styling of the current presentation.
Keep Source Formatting
The imported slide keeps the color scheme and styling of the presentation it came from.

Picture
A picture of the source slide is inserted on the slide that is currently selected in the thumbnail pane on the left. The picture can be moved and resized as needed.
Another way to reuse slides
You can also reuse slides by opening a second copy of PowerPoint to copy and paste from,.Â

On the File tab, choose a recent presentation, or select Open to choose one that isn't listed. The presentation opens in a second copy of PowerPoint.

In the second copy of PowerPoint, choose a slide thumbnail or for multiple slides, hold Ctrl down and select the thumbnails.

Right-click one of the selected thumbnails and choose Copy, or press Ctrl+C.

Return to the first presentation and right-click between the slide thumbnails and select a Paste option as described above.

On the File tab, select Open, choose View all files.

Press Ctrl and select a presentation to copy slides from to open it in a second tab.

In the second PowerPoint tab, select a slide thumbnail, or for multiple sides, hold the Ctrl key and select slide thumbnails in the left column.

Right-click a chosen slide and select
 Copy. -
Return to the first presentation, right-click between the slide thumbnails and select a Paste option as described below.
