A quick and easy way to add numbers is to use AutoSum.

To add numbers in a column, select an empty cell directly below the cells to be added. To add numbers in a row, select an empty cell to the right of the cells to be added.

Go to Formulas and select AutoSum.
Note: Select the down arrow next to AutoSum for other choices like Count, Average, Min, or Max.
