We recently announced the availability of the OneNote app on Windows in the Microsoft Store and that OneNote for Windows 10 will reach end-of-support in Oct 2025. What does this mean for OneNote for Windows 10 right now? In short, nothing. There is no impact to you if you are currently using OneNote for Windows 10. It will continue to work for the near future and receive important updates.
The release in the Microsoft Store allows new users to find the OneNote app when they search for OneNote in the Store. OneNote for Windows 10 is not removed from the Store, it just won’t be returned as the search result. If you need to install it on a new or cleaned device, or require a deployment link for your organization, it can still be found here.
As you may have heard, we are investing in the OneNote app going forward, starting with bringing OneNote for Windows’s modern look and feel, and navigation customization options to the app. We have announced the visual refresh and this is currently in the process of rolling out. We are working to add the ability for you to move your navigation to the left side of the app, bringing a consistent navigation experience across all OneNote apps. We will share more details on this so watch for a future communication from us!
