Request to join is a feature you can use with new and existing groups to help manage who can join your groups. When you turn on Request to join, any contact attempting to join your group via a join link, QR code, or Campus Connect will have to be approved by a group administrator.
Note: Request to Join is available in GroupMe for iOS, Android, and Web.
Use Request to join with an existing group:

Select the group for which you want to use Request to join.

Select the Group Avatar (group picture).

Select Settings

Slide the Request to join slider to On.

If you want potential group members to answer a question before joining the group, slide the Ask join question slider to On, then select Custom join question (Membership question in iOS) and enter the question you want answered. Select OK.
Use Request to join when creating a group:

After you’ve entered the group name and added some group members, slide the slider for Request to join to On.

If you want potential group members to answer a question before joining the group, slide the Ask join question slider to On and enter the question you want answered.

Select the check mark
to create your group.

If you’re prompted, answer the group question and select Send.

You will be added to the group when the administrator approves you.
