You might want to change the design of an Excel table or PivotTable, refresh their data, or set some options for them. You read a help topic that mentions a command on the Table Tools or the PivotTable Tools, but you don't see these tools.
If you don't see Table Tools or PivotTable Tools on your worksheet, try this step:
- Select any cell in the table or PivotTable.
If you select an Excel table, you see the Table Style Options with a Table Design tab. If you select a PivotTable, you see the PivotTable Tools with a PivotTable Analyze and a Design tab.
The ribbon in Excel for the web doesn't have the Table Tools, so you can't use them to make design changes to your table.
Although Excel for the web doesn't have Table Tools, some of the options are available. Here's where you can find them:
- Refresh data connections: Select any cell in the table, select Data, and choose Refresh All, Queries & Connections, or Workbook Links.
- Toggle total and header rows: Select any cell in the table, select Format, and choose Format as table to pick one of the toggle options.
