Undo Send in Outlook for Mac

Applies To
Outlook for Microsoft 365 for Mac Outlook 2024 Outlook 2024 for Mac Outlook 2021 for Mac

You can use the Undo Send command to cancel a message before it is sent, giving you more control and confidence over your communications. While it doesn't offer true message recall, this feature instructs the app to delay sending the message for a set period of time, so you can cancel it if you change your mind.

Note

This feature is available for Microsoft 365 Subscription licenses and Outlook.com accounts.

Set up a delay before sending messages

  1. Select Outlook > Settings > Composing.

  2. In the Composing dialog box, select the up ^ or down v button to set the delay time (5, 10, 15, up to 120 seconds).

The screenshot shows the option to change how many minutes Outlook for Mac will wait to send messages.

Once you have set the message delay, you see a prompt a prompt at the bottom of Outlook each time you send an email.
