Give your PC a Fresh Start. Resetting your PC lets you perform a clean reinstallation and update of Windows while keeping your personal data and most Windows settings intact. In some cases, a clean installation may improve your device's performance, security, browsing experience, and battery life.

Choose the power mode that works for you and what you want to do on your Windows 11 PC. This lets you determine what’s important to you—getting the best battery life, best performance, or a balance between the two. To change the power mode, select Start > Settings > System > Power & battery.

Find out which power supply model goes with your Surface device—including the power supply model number, power and wattage, and USB charging port.

Use Game Bar to play and chat with friends. Performance (9) – Track your game’s frames-per-second (FPS) and other real-time stats. For more info, go to: Track your PC’s performance with Game Bar. Resources (10) – See what apps and processes are using system resources to help you optimize gaming performance.

Check cables and reset your power supply unit: Disconnect the charger from your Surface, unplug the power cable from the power outlet in the wall, and then disconnect any USB accessories. Wait at least 10 seconds. This gives the charger time to reset.

When you use Game Mode, Windows prioritizes your gaming experience by turning things off in the background. When you’re running a game, Game Mode: Prevents Windows Update from performing driver installations and sending restart notifications.

For best performance, we recommend using a USB-C PD charger that provides at least the same wattage as the power supply that was designed for your Surface. For more info about Surface power supplies, see Surface power supplies and charging requirements.

To change the default touch gestures on your Windows 11 PC, select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad. Select Three-finger gestures or Four-finger gestures to change what your swipe gestures do. See the common touchpad gestures for your Windows 10/11 device.

Focus is a new feature in Windows 11 that helps you minimize distractions. To help you stay on track, it integrates with the Clock app with features like a focus timer and music integration. Note: Do not disturb has replaced focus assist from Windows 10.
