Sign in to SharePoint. SharePoint is a browser-based app that you connect to through your web browser, like so: Go to office.com, and sign in to your work or school account. In the upper left corner of the window, select the app launcher > All apps > SharePoint.

For Microsoft 365 operated by 21 Vianet go to login.partner.microsoftonline.cn. For Microsoft 365 Germany go to portal.office.de. This completes the download of Microsoft 365 to your device. To complete the installation, follow the prompts in the "Install Microsoft 365" section below.

Install Microsoft 365 2019 or 2016 on a PC. Remember a one-time purchase version of Microsoft 365 is licensed for one install only. Depending on your browser, select Open file (in Edge or Internet Explorer), Setup (in Chrome), or Save File (in Firefox).

Select File > Get Add-ins. Alternatively, in Word, Excel and PowerPoint you can view your add-ins by selecting Home > Add-ins.

For Microsoft 365 Family or Personal subscriptions: Select Install premium Microsoft 365 apps and follow the prompts to install or reinstall the desktop apps. On the Microsoft 365 subscription tab, select Manage. From here you can: Renew your subscription with a prepaid code or card. Learn more.

Click File > Get Add-ins. Alternatively, you can click Home > Add-ins. You can directly install add-ins from this page or select More Add-ins to explore. In the Office Add-ins box, click Store tab. Browse for the add-in you want.

Add-ins are supplemental programs that add custom commands or custom features to Office programs. You can obtain add-ins for PowerPoint at Popular Office downloads or on third-party vendor websites. If you are a developer, you can write your own custom add-in programs by using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

For guidance on how to locate the Apps button to access add-ins while reading or composing a mail item, see Use an add-in in Outlook. In the Apps page, search for the add-in you want from the available list. Alternatively, if you're after a specific add-in, enter its name in the search box.

When you select the Import Settings option during setup, the web add-in counterparts of your existing COM add-ins in classic Outlook for Windows are installed in the new client. The following table lists the applicable COM add-ins and their web add-in counterparts.

You can now get Office Add-ins from the Store or use add-ins you already have from right within recent versions of Word for Mac and Excel for Mac. There are two kinds of add-ins: Office Add-ins from the Office Store (which use web technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript) and add-ins made by using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
