In the Editor pane, choose Settings. In the Word Options dialog box, next to Grammar & Refinements, choose Settings. Scroll through the list of options. Select issues you want Editor to check, and clear the issues you want Editor to ignore. Note: Choosing Reset All returns to the default settings.

Turn AutoCorrect on or off in Word - Microsoft Support
Go to File > Options > Proofing and select AutoCorrect Options. On the AutoCorrect tab, select or clear Replace text as you type. Turn AutoCorrect on or off in your document.

Check spelling and grammar in a different language - Microsoft Support
On the Review tab, go to Language. Choose Language > Set Proofing Language, and then select Detect language automatically. Set the proofing language to check spelling in different languages within a single document. Get suggestions in different languages with Editor.

Go to Review > Language > Set Proofing Language. Note: Languages in use in the document display at the top. Languages with downloaded proofing tools have a checkmark symbol. If you don't want Word, PowerPoint, or Outlook to mark errors in the selected text, select Do not check spelling or grammar.

When you see a spelling error, Ctrl+click or right-click the word or phrase and choose one of the suggested options. Spell check documents manually or automatically as you type, or turn spell check off. Run grammar and spell checker manually to proof your writing.

Change the language Office uses in its menus and proofing tools
There are three areas in Microsoft Office where you may want to change the language. Editing or Authoring is the language in which you write and edit your content. You may need to install an associated keyboard for this language via Windows settings. Proofing tools are spelling and grammar check.

Add or remove AutoCorrect entries in Word - Microsoft Support
Add entry to an AutoCorrect list. Go to the AutoCorrect tab. In the Replace box, type a word or phrase that you often misspell. In the With box, type the correct spelling of the word. Select Add. For more info on the AutoCorrect tab, see AutoCorrect options.
