There are several different ways for family members and organizers to leave or be removed from a Microsoft family group depending on their role. Before leaving, family members and organizers should remove saved places and location alerts they would not like to remain in the group.

If you want to collaborate with them in Teams, you can add them as a guest. Guests have fewer capabilities than team members or team owners, but there's still a lot they can do. For a deeper look, see Guest capabilities in Teams. Note: You must be a team owner to add a guest in Teams.

Add shortcuts to shared folders in OneDrive for work or school. Sync SharePoint and Teams files with your computer. Both options allow essentially the same thing—users can access files on their local computer in File Explorer or Finder.

Pin, remove, and customize in Quick access. By default, File Explorer opens to Quick Access. You can set a folder to show up in Quick access so it'll be easy to find. Just right-click (or long-press) it and select Pin to Quick access.

Go to Picture Format or Picture Tools Format > Group > Group. Go to Shape Format or Drawing Tools Format > Group > Group. To still work with an individual item in the group, select the group, and then select the item. The Group button is enabled for two or more selected objects.
