Verified IDs are secure trusted credentials that can be used by websites and organizations to make account setup simpler and safer. Usually, you'll use your device's camera to capture a QR code on the site to get a new Verified ID, or a verification of an ID already on your device.

Use the Windows Quick Assist app to get help with a computer problem from family or friends or help them out. Quick Assist uses a remote connection, so remember to only use it with people you trust, since they can see your computer screen or control your PC (if you allow it).

Important: If your device is out of support, it is no longer receiving security updates from Microsoft and may become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses.For this reason, we strongly recommend that you update to the latest version of Windows. Each version of Windows is supported for 18 months.

UPDATED 10/10/2023 REMINDER Some editions of Windows 11, version 21H2 are at end of service today, October 10, 2023. These are Home, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstation. After today, devices that run these editions will not receive monthly security and quality updates.

When you get a new device and start up Windows 10 for the first time, the antivirus protection that comes installed with the device is your default security app.

Note: NET Framework 4.8.1 installers have been refreshed to include the latest servicing updates as of June 13th, 2023.Apart from the servicing fixes, there is no change in the .NET Framework 4.8.1 product that was released originally on August 9th, 2022.

The recommended (and easiest) way to get SP1 is to turn on automatic updating in Windows Update in Control Panel and wait for Windows 7 to notify you that SP1 is ready to install.
