Microsoft Defender is a security app that helps people and families stay safer online with malware protection, web protection, real-time security notifications, and security tips.Microsoft Defender is included in a Microsoft 365 Family or Personal subscription and works on your phone (Android or iOS), PC, and Mac.

You can back up your Windows PC, or insert a USB drive and use File Explorer to drag and copy important files to the USB drive.If you’re signing into Windows with a Microsoft account, your system settings will be automatically restored after updating, once you’re connected to the internet.

Note: The scan creates a backup file during the repair process.To change the default name or location of this backup file, in the Enter name of backup file box, enter a new name, or choose Browse to select the file you want to use. Note: The Automatically save passwords setting has been retired with Microsoft Edge version 124 and later. Instead, Edge will offer to save your passwords each time you enter new credentials in the Edge browser. All your previously autosaved passwords will continue to be available for a seamless login.

To edit a PDF, open it in Word. This works best with PDFs that are mostly text. PDFs of book chapters or something that looks like a manuscript from a copier won't be formatted well in Word.

If you want to stop a file or folder from syncing or backing up, you can pause the upload or download. See Stop syncing temporarily below for details.. If uploads or downloads with the OneDrive website are taking too long, or you selected the wrong files, they can be cancelled.

When in the new Teams, turn on (or off) notifications by selecting Settings and more at the top of the new Teams, then selecting Settings > Notifications > Open Windows notifications settings.Find Microsoft Teams (work preview) in the apps list and set your preference.
