Log out of Outlook to protect your personal information. Important: Outlook.com, Outlook Web App, and Outlook for Windows are not all the same. Outlook for Windows are programs on your local computer that you can use to access any type of email account, whereas with Outlook.com and Outlook Web App, you access them through your Internet browser.

Sign out of your account and then sign in to your new account. If everything is fixed, move your personal data and files to the new account. To move your personal files from your old account to your new account, try opening File Explorer, expanding This PC > OSDisk (C:), and looking in the Users folder, where you should see folders for both accounts.

Turn on Find my device. When you set up a new device, you can decide whether to turn on or turn off the Find my device setting.
