Make sure any 3rd-party Office add-ins that you rely on are stated as being Office 2010 and 64-bit compatible. Possible backward incompatibility is why, if in doubt, stay with the 32-bit version. Insert the Office 2010 installation disc.

Windows Mail and Calendar apps. If you're using Windows Mail and Calendar and your accounts are supported in new Outlook, you will see a toggle in the upper right of the Mail app in Windows 10 and 11 to Try the new Outlook.. If you're trying to add your Outlook.com account to Outlook or another mail app, you might need the POP, IMAP, or SMTP settings. Outlook and Outlook.com may be able to detect your account's mailbox settings automatically, but for other non-Microsoft accounts, you may need to contact your email provider for their settings.
