To increase security and performance, Windows 11 in S mode only runs apps from the Microsoft Store. If you want to install an app that isn't available in the Microsoft Store, or if you have Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or Education and want to upgrade to Windows 11, you'll need to permanently switch out of S mode.

In the search box on the taskbar, type Manage BitLocker and then select it from the list of results. Or, select the Start button, and then under Windows System, select Control Panel.In Control Panel, select System and Security, and then under BitLocker Drive Encryption, select Manage BitLocker. In Windows 11, ensure that Camera access, Let apps access your camera, and the individual toggle for the Microsoft Store app you wish to use is turned on. If you do not see the app or website you're looking for in the list, it's likely a desktop app. Desktop apps cannot be individually toggled, but access for those apps can be controlled using Let desktop apps access your camera.
