Take a picture of some printed data Maybe you’d like to get data from your previous tax returns into Excel and you only have printed copies.Just take a picture of each one, transfer the pictures to your computer (OneDrive is great for this). Then, click Data > From Picture > Picture From File and follow the on-screen instructions to convert picture to data.

In the Add-Ins dialog box, select the check boxes the add-ins that you want to use, and then click OK. If Excel displays a message that states it can't run this add-in and prompts you to install it, click Yes to install the add-ins. Import a text file by opening it in Excel. You can open a text file that you created in another program as an Excel workbook by using the Open command. Opening a text file in Excel does not change the format of the file — you can see this in the Excel title bar, where the name of the file retains the text file name extension (for example, .txt or .csv).
