Turn Windows Security on or off - Microsoft Support
Security Windows 10. When you get a new device and start up Windows 10 for the first time, the antivirus protection that comes installed with the device is your default security app. However, Windows Security is pre-installed and ready for you to use at any time.
Turn off Defender antivirus protection in Windows Security
Select the Windows Security app from the search results, go to Virus & threat protection, and under Virus & threat protection settings select Manage settings. Switch Real-time protection to Off. Note that scheduled scans will continue to run. However, files that are downloaded or installed will not be scanned until the next scheduled scan. Notes:
