Take a snapshot to copy words or images from all or part of your PC screen. Use Snipping Tool to make changes or notes, then save, and share. Capture any of the following types of snips: Draw a free-form shape around an object. Drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle.

Windows 11 Windows 10. To use the Snipping Tool when you have a mouse and a keyboard: Press Windows logo key + Shift + S. The desktop will darken while you select an area for your screenshot. Rectangular mode is selected by default.

To capture what's going to happen next. Start your game. Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select Capture & share > Start recording. Depending on your game clip resolution and available storage space, clips can last up to 10 minutes (capturing to internal storage) or 1 hour (capturing to external storage).

Press Windows logo key+Shift+S. The desktop darkens so you can select an area for your screenshot. On the mini toolbar that appears, select the snipping mode you want: rectangular mode, free-form mode, window mode, or full-screen mode:
