The latest Xbox controller firmware update may affect Bluetooth connectivity and performance with some older non-Xbox devices. If your controller is having Bluetooth-related issues after a firmware update, you can choose to revert your controller to an earlier firmware version to correct the problem. Things to keep in mind.

If the automatic update failed, try manually updating your controller from your Xbox console settings. To do so: Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Go to Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Controllers & headsets. Select “…” under the controller that you want to update.

You can quickly check the health of your Surface drivers and firmware using the Surface app. Open the Surface app. In the Surface app, expand Help & support to check the update status. If there are updates available, select the Check for updates button to open Windows Update and install the available updates.
