Use PDF format when you want a file that: Looks the same on most computers. Has a smaller file size. Complies with an industry format.

View, print, and edit PDFs in a PDF reader - Microsoft Support
Click Print. Select options such as page orientation and number of copies, and then click Print. Notes: If your browser doesn’t have a built-in PDF viewer, you will see the following message when you first click Print. Click Download, and then open the PDF in a desktop application or viewer. You can then print the PDF from your application.

Word Help & Training. Save & print. Edit a PDF. To edit a PDF, open it in Word. This works best with PDFs that are mostly text. PDFs of book chapters or something that looks like a manuscript from a copier won't be formatted well in Word. Go to File > Open. Find the PDF and open it (you might have to select Browse and find the PDF in a folder).

You’ll need to have Adobe Acrobat or Abode Reader installed to see or read PDF files. Note: If you're looking to insert the contents of your PDF file into an Office file, as opposed to simply inserting the PDF as an attachment, then your best bet is to open that PDF with Word 2013 or 2016.
