For a Microsoft account, you can reset your password. Go to the reset password page and follow the instructions. If you only see the Password icon, you have either a domain (work or school) account or a local account. For a domain account you need help from your system administrator.

Check your version of Windows 10. Select Next, then select Sign out and finish. Sign back in with your new local account. If you didn’t add security questions to help you reset your password, it’s a good idea to create a password reset disk.
