First, you'll need to download the troubleshooter. Download troubleshooter. If you see the File Download box when you start downloading, select Run or Open. The troubleshooter provides steps for you to follow. If a program isn't listed in the uninstall options, you'll be asked for that program's product code.

When critical Windows system files are missing or corrupted, some Windows features may stop working correctly or Windows may stop responding altogether. If this happens, you can use the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool (DISM) and the System File Checker tool (SFC) to scan your system files and restore any corrupted or missing files.

There are different ways to remove apps and programs, so if you can't find the one you're looking for, you can try another location. Note that some apps and programs are built into Windows and can't be uninstalled. You can try to repair a program first, if it's just not running correctly.

Get Help has troubleshooters you can run for many common scenarios. These often help resolve issues without the need to contact support. If a troubleshooter is available for your issue, select Run to start that troubleshooter.

With System Restore you can revert your PC's state to a previous point in time. This can be particularly useful when troubleshooting issues caused by recent changes, such as software installations, driver updates, or system settings modifications.

Repair options from the Settings page. Select Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Select the More icon next to the app you want to fix. Select Advanced options (some apps don't have this option). In the page that opens, select Repair if it's available. If it isn't available or doesn't fix the problem, select Reset.

Right-click the Start button (lower-left corner) and select Apps and Features on the pop-up menu. Select the Microsoft Office product you want to repair and select Modify. Note: This will repair the entire Office suite even if it's just one application you want to repair such as Word or Excel.

Use the Excel check troubleshooter to resolve Excel for Windows startup, hang, or crash issues. Select the button below to start the Excel check troubleshooter. You need to be on the same Windows PC as Excel to run the troubleshooter.

Install the Microsoft 365 Access Runtime. The Microsoft 365 Access Runtime files are available as a free download in either the 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) versions in all supported languages. Decide which bit version you need. For more information, see Choose between the 64-bit or 32-bit version of Office.
