How you recover something depends on when you saved it. Open the file you were working on. Select File > Info. Under Manage Documents, select the file labeled (when I closed without saving). In the bar at the top of the file, select Restore to overwrite any previously saved versions.

Find your files in Windows - Microsoft Support
Search from the taskbar: Type the name of a document (or a keyword from it) into the search box on the taskbar. You'll see results for documents across your PC and OneDrive. To filter your search, you can select the Documents tab—and then your search results will only show documents.
