Fixes an issue in which both the Svchost.exe process and the Lsm.exe process consume lots of CPU resources. This issues occurs after you remotely connect to a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2.

This update addresses an issue in which Windows leaks lots of handles in the lsm.exe process. When smart card applications use the SCardEstablishContext function after you apply update 4056446 , the leaking may eventually cause the applications to display an “SCARD_E_NO_SERVICE” error message.

Fixes an issue in which the "Please wait for Local Session Manager" message is displayed for several minutes on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2. This issue occurs when you disconnect from the server during the logon process.

The issue occurs because of a race condition in the Local Session Manager (Lsm.exe) process. When the race condition occurs, the performance counters are not updated when a Remote Desktop Services session is disconnected.
