Change a task's lead or lag time when the resource has more tasks assigned than can be completed during a given time period. The simplest way to correct that overallocation is to delay one of those tasks, ideally a task with lower priority than the others.

When people in your project are working on too many assignments at the same time, you can resolve resource conflicts or overallocations by leveling the assignments automatically by going to Resource > Level All. Leveling works by delaying tasks or splitting them so the resources that are assigned to those tasks are no longer overloaded.

You create a new task in Task Scheduler. When you create the task, you select the Run whether user is logged on or not option, click to clear the Do not store password. The task will only have access to local computer resources check box, and then click OK to apply the settings.

When you assign resources to a task, Project calculates how long the task is likely to take to complete using those resources. If you assign multiple resources at the same time, the duration doesn't change from your original estimate.

With Project, you can filter your view so that you only see the critical tasks, milestones, and other information that’s most important to you. There are three ways to filter the tasks or resources in your project provides predefined filters for viewing specific aspects of tasks and resources.

To group tasks, select a sheet view such as the Gantt Chart, Task Sheet, or Task Usage view. You can also group tasks in the Network Diagram view. To group resources, select a sheet view such as the Resource Sheet or Resource Usage view.

To find overallocated or underallocated resources either within a project or across projects, you can access Project Online and view a graph and table of resource availability. From the Project Online Project Center, click Resources in the left side menu.

Removing a resource assignment will remove the resource's obligations to work on a particular tasks or set of tasks, but the resource can still exist in the project. Tip: To remove a resource from a project, on the View tab, choose Resource Sheet .

In Project, you can set a unique schedule for a specific resource. Tip: You can also change resource availability without using a calendar. Click Project > Properties > Change Working Time. Choose a resource from the For calendar list. Choose the right Base calendar for the resource.
