Press Windows logo key + Shift + R to open the snipping tool overlay to capture a video clip. Press Print Screen (PrtSc) for a static image snapshot of your entire screen and place it in your clipboard.

After you capture a snip, it's automatically copied to the Snipping Tool window. From there you can edit, save, or share the snip. Set up your screen so you can clearly see what you want to capture. Press Windows logo key+Shift+S. The desktop darkens so you can select an area for your screenshot.

Quickly take a screenshot in a few different ways, depending on the keyboard you have: Select Start , enter Snipping Tool in the search bar, and select it from the results.

To locate your screenshots, open File Explorer from the taskbar. On the side navigation pane, select the Pictures folder, and select Screenshots. View the full list of keyboard shortcuts. You can also use Snipping Tool to capture screenshots.

Simply use Windows key + mouse click or Windows key + Q to enter Click to Do and take actions on what you clicked. You can also enter Click to Do through a right swipe on touch enabled PCs, or from the Snipping Tool menu if Snipping Tool is installed.

Use your mouse and keyboard to define the snip area. After capturing, you hear: “Screenshot copied to clipboard.” To save the snip, open the Snipping Tool or paste the snip into an app using Ctrl+V, then press Ctrl+S to save it. To insert a screenshot of an entire window, select the thumbnail of the window and it automatically appears in your file. To capture and add a portion of your screen, select Screen Clipping.
