If you delete files or folders that you're syncing, you can restore them from the Windows recycle bin on your PC. To put your Windows recycle bin on your desktop, see Show or hide the Recycle Bin. The information in this article also applies to OneDrive (for work or school) files.

A SharePoint site collection administrator can view and restore deleted items from the site collection Recycle Bin to their original locations. If an item is deleted from the site collection Recycle Bin, or it exceeds the retention time, it is permanently deleted. Important: The SharePoint Recycle Bin is different from the Recycle Bin in Windows.

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.Or, if you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then click Search.Type Command Prompt in the Search box, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.

From this page, you can view items that are currently in a user's Recycle Bin and items that a user has deleted from his or her Recycle Bin, sending the items to the second stage Recycle Bin also known as the Site Collection Recycle Bin.

If you accidentally delete a file or folder in OneDrive, you may be able to recover it later from the OneDrive recycle bin. For info about restoring a SharePoint file or folder, see how to restore items from the SharePoint recycle bin.

Open the file you were working on. Go to File > Info. Under Manage Workbook or Manage Presentation, select the file labeled (when I closed without saving). In the bar at the top of the file, select Restore to overwrite any previously saved versions. Tip: In Word, you can also compare versions by clicking Compare instead of Restore.

Windows 10. This article applies if you’ve recently made changes to your device hardware and are trying to upgrade to Windows 11. Hardware changes might affect your upgrade eligibility, though you’ll need to take a few steps to see your updated eligibility in Settings.

Web Office 2016 - 2021. Delete items or empty the Second-Stage Recycle Bin in SharePoint. Caution: When you delete an item from the Second-Stage or Site Collection Recycle Bin, it is permanently removed. On modern team sites and classic sites (subsites) in the left pane, choose Recycle Bin.

Here's how to get the Recycle Bin on your desktop in Windows 10: Select the Start  button, then select Settings . Select Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings. Select the Recycle Bin check box > Apply. Notes: To get to desktop icon settings in Windows 8.1, swipe in from the right edge of the screen, then select Search.
