Introduction
This article describes a country-specific update for India that is available for TDS or TCS voucher imbalance for single voucher number and warning on TDS or TCS calculation on payment in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2.
During posting multiline transaction containing India direct tax (TCS or TDS) via journal, if the journal name is set up to have new voucher number as "One voucher number only", user would experience a voucher imbalance error till the extent of withholding tax that was calculated on the transaction.
During posting invoice, if the user explicitly removes TDS or TCS group on the transaction, while making payment or settlement for the same invoice, AX is calculating withholding tax based on the TDS or TCS group that default from customer or vendor master. Although user can remove this calculated withholding tax before posting the transaction, but this behavior raised the possibility of erroneous or incorrect transaction posting.

This hotfix contains fixes for two issues:
Fix has been included to ensure the user does not get a voucher imbalance error when journal name is set up to have voucher number as "One voucher number only."
A new parameter is added in general ledger parameters under:
General ledger > Setup > General ledger parameters > Direct tax > Calculation validation
"Warn before applying taxes to invoice payments that don't have taxes" parameter when selected will raise a warning message for the user to act upon if the withholding tax is calculated at the time of payment settlement for any invoice that did not have TDS or TCS group selected at the time of invoice posting. User has the option to cancel the transaction posting or continue with the posting by selecting the appropriate response on the warning message.
Note: After installing this hotfix, users may experience compile error related to AX2012 web controls. The issue happens because the proxies which are used to compile in Dynamics AX are not regenerated.
To fix the issue, before compile, please right click on AOT \ Web \Web Files \ Web controls and select "Generate Proxies for Compilation"
