Introduction
This article describes the latest update for System Center Operations Manager 2022. This article also contains the installation instructions and describes the fixes, improvements, and updated components included in System Center Operations Manager 2022 Update Rollup 4 (UR4).
Issues fixed in this update
Fixed an issue in Standard Dataset grooming where data older than the configured retention period was not removed correctly. The update ensures retention settings are honored, preventing unnecessary database growth and improving Data Warehouse maintenance efficiency.
Fixed an issue related to SCOM Group Name inconsistency – An inconsistency in the SCOM Console where dynamically created groups appeared with different names in the User Role Wizard compared to other console locations
Fixed an issue where Dashboard View will not load State View when Physical Memory column is added
Fixed an issue where Teams Notification containing double quotes are not delivered
Fixed an issue where Web Console: State View returns HTTP 500 for monitoring classes with no containment children
Fixed an issue where Views like "Windows Service State" and "Process State" will not load in Web Console
Fixed an issue where Amendment in GB characters (National Standard for Chinese language) caused issues on few pages. The details are below.
All reports cannot display GB Amendment Characters.
Input fields don’t display Specific GB Amendment Characters when creating a Dashboard View.
On Active Alert Page, the Alert Name does not display some GB Amendment characters in the right Task Panel.
On the alert view page, the title for the alert name does not display some GB Amendment characters.
Fixed an issue in Web console: Changes to limit PowerShell widget access to Administrators only: The PowerShell (PS) Widget in dashboards is accessible to all users, including those without administrative privileges. This posed a potential security and access control issue, as non-admin users were able to execute or view PowerShell scripts through the web console or dashboard interface. This fix limits the access to edit PowerShell widgets to Administrators only.
Fixed an issue when user is trying to discover agent in SCOM using the wizard and get the following error:
The Operations Manager Server could not find directory [\SERVERNAME\C$\WINDOWS\](file:///\SERVERNAME\C$\WINDOWS). Agent will not be installed on computer SERVERNAME.domain.com. Please verify the required share exists.
Fixed an issue where Management Packs not updated/imported after install.
Fixed an issue where Linux discovery wizard does not display proper error messages
Previous fixes
All issues that were fixed in SCOM 2022 RTM, Update Rollup 1 (UR1), Update Rollup 2 (UR2), Update Rollup 3 (UR3), and any previous hotfixes are included in SCOM 2022 Update Rollup 4 (UR4). Update Rollups are cumulative, therefore installing UR4 provides all fixes and enhancements released in earlier update packages

Update packages for Operations Manager 2022 UR4 are available through the Microsoft Update Catalog or by manual download.
Unix/Linux/Network monitoring fixes and changes
Added support for OpenSSL 3.* distros like Debian 13, RHEL 10, Rocky Linux 10, AlmaLinux 10, and Oracle Linux 10.
Added support for new distros like Ubuntu 26.
Fixed an issue where the LastBootUpTime property of SCX_OperatingSystem returned an empty value on distributions that no longer maintain UTMP records, such as Debian 13.
Fixed an issue where the NumberOfUsers property of SCX_OperatingSystem always returned 0 on distributions that use systemd-logind for session management, such as Ubuntu 26.
Fixed SCX Agent certificate signing issue: Restored functionality of scxcertconfig.exe and enabling certificate signing and SCX Agent installation.

Note
MSP files are included in the update rollup package. Apply all MSP files that relate to a specific computer. For example, if the web console and console roles are installed on a management server, apply the MSP files on the management server. Apply one MSP file on a server for each specific role that the server holds.

Uninstallation Instructions
To uninstall an update, run the following command:
msiexec /package {RTMProductCodeGUID} /uninstall {PatchCodeGUID}
Note
The \<PatchCodeGuid\> and \<RTMProductCodeGuid\> placeholder represents one of the following GUIDs.
For uninstalling the server component, only binaries are rolled back while databases and imported management packs remain unaffected.

UNIX and Linux management pack update
To install the updated monitoring packs and agents for UNIX and Linux operating systems, follow these steps:
Apply Update Rollup 4 to your System Center Operations Manager 2022 environment.
Download the updated management packs for System Center 2022 from the following Microsoft website Download System Center 2022 Management Pack for Linux Operating Systems from Official Microsoft Download Center.
Install the management pack update package to extract the management pack files.
Import the updated management pack for each version of Linux or UNIX that you are monitoring in your environment.
Upgrade each agent to the latest version by using the Update-SCXAgent Windows PowerShell cmdlet or the UNIX/Linux Agent Upgrade Wizard in the Administration pane of the Operations Console.
