Symptoms
The Explorer.exe process continuously crashes and restarts after the first instance is run and ended in Windows Server Technical Preview or Windows 10 Technical Preview. When this problem occurs, another process, such as Runtimebroker.exe, might crash before Explorer.exe crashes. However, only Explorer.exe will continuously crash and restart.

An update is available to resolve this problem.

This update is available from Windows Update.
Prerequisites
To install this update, you must have the following update installed:
3025096 Computer that has system compression enabled cannot install Windows Update in Windows 10 Technical Preview
Known issue
This update may not install on computers that have system compression enabled. When this problem occurs, you may receive a 0x8024001d installation error from Windows Update. To resolve this problem, install update 3025096 .
Registry information
To apply this update, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.
Restart requirement
You may have to restart the computer after you apply this update.
Update replacement information
This update does not replace a previously released update.

File information
The English (United States) version of this software update installs files that have the attributes that are listed in the following tables. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Be aware that dates and times for these files on your local computer are displayed in your local time and with your current daylight saving time bias. The dates and times may also change when you perform certain operations on the files.
The MANIFEST files (.manifest) and the MUM files (.mum) that are installed for each environment are listed separately in the "Additional file information" section. MUM, MANIFEST, and the associated security catalog (.cat) files, are very important to maintain the state of the updated components. The security catalog files, for which the attributes are not listed, are signed with a Microsoft digital signature.
