Special characters in custom footer aren't displayed correctly in Skype for Business 2016 meeting invitation in Outlook

Symptoms

When you use special characters (especially non-English characters, such as French or Asian Languages) in the Custom footer text field of Microsoft Skype for Business 2016 meetings, some of these characters aren't getting properly displayed in the Outlook meeting invitation.

Resolution

To fix this issue, install the December 6, 2016, update (KB3127980) for Skype for Business 2016.
