Summary

When Skype for Business Server is deployed in a hybrid configuration in Entra ID, features such as archiving data into Exchange mailboxes and providing calendar-based updates become available between Skype for Business Server and Exchange Online.

To enable hybrid functionality, Skype for Business Server uses a shared service principal together with Exchange Online for secure communication. However, this process is being deprecated beause of security concerns. To prepare for this significant change, a configuration update is required in your Skype for Business Server hybrid environment.
