Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
- You install the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 2584702 on a computer that is running Microsoft Test Manager 2010.
- In Test Manager 2010, you create a shared step that includes one or more test steps.
- You enter the expected results of the shared step in the "Expected Result" column.
- You create a test case that is based on the shared step, and then you start the test case.
- You click the drop-down button in the corner of the shared step description to view the extended test step descriptions.
In this scenario, the "Expected Result" field is blank.

This issue occurs because of a regression that is introduced by the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 2584702.
