Can I get a refund from Skype?

Important

Updated Skype has retired and here is everything you need to know.

Yes! If eligible, Skype refunds are given in accordance with our refund policy in Skype's Terms of Use.

Refunds are made using the same payment method used to make the initial purchase. Skype can't complete refunds if the original payment method is no longer available, for example your credit card expired, the PayPal account is closed, or where the payment method doesn't allow refunds.

How do I get a Skype refund?

If you believe you are eligible for a refund, contact Skype customer support.

Skype refunds can be given for:

  • Subscriptions that haven't been used and haven't expired.
  • Skype Credit that hasn't been used if the refund is requested within 14-days of purchase. Outside of the 14-day period in the EU, refunds are at the discretion of Skype (EU customers only).
  • Technical issues that we determine to be Skype's fault.
  • Fraudulent use if we determine your account was taken over by a third party.
  • Charges made in error if you contact us within 90-days of purchase. We can't give refunds for charges that are more than 90-days old.

Note

If you made an in-app Skype purchase through iTunes or Google Play, we're unable to provide a refund. You need to request a refund from Apple or request a refund from Google Play .

Can I get a refund for my Skype Number?

We can't refund you for our paid products when they've been used. As defined by Skype's refund policy, the nature of a Skype Number means that you use it to receive calls from the moment it's purchased; therefore, no refund can be made for Skype Numbers.
