Take a screenshot or record your screen on Surface Duo

Take a screenshot or record a video to show other people what’s on your screens. Afterwards, share it how you want—email, text message, social media—it’s up to you. 

Take a screenshot

  1. Press and hold the Power button and Volume down button at the same time

  2. To see your screenshot, do one of the following:

    • If you use OneDrive, open Photos on your Home screen > On device, and then tap the Screenshots folder.

    • If you use Google Photos, open Google Photos, then tap Library > Screenshots folder.

Record video of your screens

  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to see quick settings, then swipe down again.

  2. Swipe left to see more quick settings.

  3. Tap Screen Record, then tap Start to begin recording.

  4. When you're done and want to stop recording, swipe down from the top of the screen, and then tap the Screen Recorder notification.

  5. To see your recorded videos, do one of the following:

    • If you use OneDrive, open Photos on your Home screen > On device, and then tap Movies.

    • If you use Google Photos, open Google Photos, then tap Library > Movies folder.

Tip: Don't see the Screen Record quick setting? Swipe down from the top of the screen twice, then tap Edit (the pencil icon). Under Hold and drag to add tiles, drag the Screen Recorder tile up to add it.

  5. To see your recorded videos, do one of the following:

    • If you use Google Photos, open Google Photos, then tap Library > Movies folder.

    • If you use OneDrive, open OneDrive on your Home screen, then tap On device > Movies folder.
