Symptoms

Assume that you run a Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3-based device that supports the Compact Disc File System (CDFS) and the Universal Disc File System (UDFS). In this situation, when you insert a CD into the device, the CD is not mounted.Note This issue occurs when the CD has an invalid UDFS volume descriptor.

Cause

This issue occurs because the file system manager recognizes the CD as a UDFS CD. When an invalid volume descriptor in the CD is detected, the file system manager does not search for the CDFS format or for any other file system format. Therefore, you experience the issue that is described in the "Symptoms" section.
