Hello,

Beginning on September 30, 2023, all eligible Microsoft Accounts will automatically be enrolled in the Microsoft Rewards program.

  • If you are currently enrolled in Microsoft Rewards (or if you enroll prior to September 30, 2023), this auto enrollment change will not impact you in any way.

  • If you are not already enrolled in Microsoft Rewards on September 30, 2023, you will be automatically enrolled and will be immediately eligible to earn Microsoft Rewards points.  You will still be required to activate your Rewards membership on the Rewards Dashboard before you can redeem your points.

Inclusion in the free Microsoft Rewards program makes it even easier to start earning points for things you already do, like searching on Bing, shopping in the Microsoft Store, or gaming on Xbox!  We want to make sure everyone who uses Microsoft’s products and services has a chance to be rewarded for engaging with us.

We’re certainly sorry to see you go, but if you’re enrolled and you want to leave, you can opt out

If you are a Rewards member prior to September 30, 2023, no changes will be made to your current Rewards account. You will continue to earn and redeem as you always have

  • If you are automatically enrolled in the Rewards Program on or after September 30, 2023 (because you have not joined the program before that date), you will be enrolled in the Program, but your membership will not yet be activated.  This means that, while you will be able to immediately earn Rewards Points for certain activities (up to a certain limit), you will not be able to redeem those Points until you activate your membership.

  • You can activate your account after September 30, 2023, by visiting the Rewards Dashboard , by clicking on the Rewards medallion on bing.com, or by using the Rewards app on the Xbox Console. We may add additional ways to activate between now and September 30.

No.  Microsoft does not collect any additional personal data from you simply by virtue of you being enrolled in the Rewards program.
