Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a failover cluster in a Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2) environment.

  • You change the values of cluster properties that are related to cluster network heartbeat, such as the SameSubnetDelay, SameSubnetThreshold, CrossSubnetDelay, or CrossSubnetThreshold property.

  • You confirm that the changes take effect.

  • One of the cluster nodes restarts and then rejoins the cluster.

In this situation, the changed properties revert to their default values for one or more routes between the restarted node and any other node already in the cluster.

Resolution

To resolve this issue in Windows Server 2012 R2, install update 2919355.
