Important: The information in this article applies to Clipchamp for personal accounts. To learn how to access Clipchamp for work accounts instead, see this FAQ.
Clipchamp is a Microsoft product. If you used our Windows app in the past (before July 2022) and are using a more recent version now, you will likely notice some differences.
What changed?
When you open the Clipchamp app that is installed on your Windows device, you'll be automatically logged in using your personal or family Microsoft account. If we cannot automatically log you in, you will be prompted to choose a Microsoft account to use for login.
Why?
For Windows users who are logged into Windows on a personal or family Microsoft account, this change creates a more seamless experience while using Clipchamp alongside other offerings that use your Microsoft account, such as Word or OneDrive.
Will this create a new Clipchamp account?
If you already have a Clipchamp account with the email address of your Microsoft account, when you open Clipchamp it will open that existing Clipchamp account. If you do not have a Clipchamp account with your Microsoft account email address yet, it will create a new Clipchamp account for you.
What if I already have a Clipchamp account with saved videos?
If you've previously created a Clipchamp account with a different email address, you can simply connect your new "Microsoft-based" Clipchamp account and old "non-Microsoft" Clipchamp account to retrieve your videos. Follow these instructions to connect your Microsoft account to your existing Clipchamp account.
What if I open Clipchamp in my browser?
If you open Clipchamp in the browser, you won't be automatically logged in with your Microsoft account. However, you can manually log in with it via the Continue with Microsoft (personal or family) option, or you can log in with another login method and connect your Microsoft ID.
