Clussvc.exe or cluster node crashes when a node sends a message to another node in a Windows Server 2012 R2 cluster

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a Windows Server 2012 R2 cluster.

  • One cluster node sends a message that is larger than 64 kilobytes (KB) to another cluster node. Additionally, the connection between the two nodes is broken.

  • The two nodes are reconnected.

  • A large message is sent through the same connection.

In this scenario, the Clussvc.exe process on the cluster node that receives the message crashes or the cluster node itself crashes.
