This update supports two new registry keys that validate the input when you configure the monitoring server, and disable the legacy Control Panel (CSCP) from the Start menu. A PowerShell script that adds the new registry keys is also available. If the registry keys are not added, the Control Panel behavior on the Start menu will not change.
New registry keys
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Real-Time Communications\{5DC8C4D5-5133-4CE5-BF4E-8C459BF419D6}\DMR
This registry key adds validation for the monitoring server, checks the characters of the username, and displays the following error message if the characters are not valid:
“ERROR: The username used to configure Reporting Server should contains only following characters: (a- z), (A-Z), (0-9), space( ), dot(.), underscore(_), and hyphen(-). An error occurred when deploying Monitoring Reports. For details, see the log.”
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Real-Time Communications\{5DC8C4D5-5133-4CE5-BF4E-8C459BF419D6}\OCP
This registry key disables the original Control Panel (CSCP).
Note: If you accidently run the script, and you want to revert the changes, run the PowerShell script by using the Undo parameter.
