Explorer.exe may crash when the battery power is low in Windows 8 or Windows RT

Symptoms

When the battery level on a portable computer that is running Windows RT or Windows 8 is low, the Explorer.exe process may crash. This issue occurs only when the computer is running on battery power.  

Resolution

Update information
