Copilot's compose text feature in PowerPoint can help you generate text based on slide context - ensuring tone, formatting and narrative consistency and honoring space constraints. Â
Tip: If you have a work or school account and a qualifying Microsoft 365 business subscription, Copilot Chat is now available for you to use in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote. Using the PowerPoint Compose text Feature

Select the blank textbox you want to generate text on.

Select the pen button that appears to see following options.

Choose one of the above options to generate text based on your need:Â

Custom prompt: Tell Copilot in your own words how/what you want to generate your text. For example, you could say "Add a one-liner most important takeaway from this slide as the title"Â

Add key insights from the slide: Best for adding a short summary covering both text and visuals on the slide

Add text on a topic: Best for expanding on few pointers / paragraphs on the slide topic or a new topic

Add a title:Â Best for adding a suitable title for your slideÂ

Add a caption:Â Best for adding a suitable caption for your visuals (images, charts, infographics)Â

Review the suggested changes and select Keep it if you're happy with them.Â

If you want Copilot to try again, select the Regenerate button.

If you want Copilot to try again with new instructions, write in the text box how you would like the text to be rewritten.
