Symptoms

Assume that you have an application that has a Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) provider loaded on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2). When you execute WMI queries, registry handle leak occurs in the WMI provider (wmiprvse.exe) process on the computer. Additionally, the computer crashes after the system reaches the maximum handle limit.
