Symptoms

You may experience intermittent high CPU usage from profile cache operations of the Commerce Server Core System in Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 R2 Service Pack 1. This problem occurs until the w3wp.exe process is restarted.

Cause

This problem occurs because of incorrect lock operations for profile cache in the Commerce Server Core System.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, apply the hotfix that is described in this section.

Prerequisites

To apply this hotfix, you must have Service Pack 1 for Commerce Server 2009 R2 installed.

Restart information

If you uninstall this hotfix, the Commerce Server Configuration Wizard and the Upgrade Wizard may be started. You can safely click Cancel to cancel those wizards.

Replacement information

This hotfix does not replace a previously released hotfix.
