SQL Server 2017 introduces the following new dynamic management views (DMVs) and dynamic management functions (DMFs):
The above DMVs and DMFs are currently enabled by default, this update allows you to disable them by using the following T-SQL statement:
sp_configure 'show advanced options', 1; GO RECONFIGURE; GO sp_configure 'SMO and DMO XPs', 0; GO RECONFIGURE GO
Similarly, you may enable those DMV and DMFs by using the following T-SQL statement:
sp_configure 'show advanced options', 1; GO RECONFIGURE; GO sp_configure 'SMO and DMO XPs', 1; GO RECONFIGURE GO
This update is included in Cumulative Update 1 for SQL Server 2017.
