Introduction
The Phi Silica J32 AI component for Qualcomm‑powered systems is a Transformer‑based machine‑learning language model designed to run locally on the device. On Copilot+ Windows PCs, Microsoft’s Phi Silica small language model (SLM) is executed on the system’s Neural Processing Unit (NPU), enabling efficient, on‑device machine‑learning inference. This component leverages specialized NPU acceleration to deliver high‑performance, low‑power AI computation for local language understanding and multimodal machine‑learning workloads.
