This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics AX for the Russian (ru) region.
There is a series of Russian report output forms implemented in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 using Open XML technology. There were performance issues discovered with these reports. For example, a Sales invoice form (TORG-12) containing more than 3000 lines is generated in more than 2 minutes and opened in more than 4 minutes, resulting in more than 6 minutes of generating the output form.
There are two main reasons of performance issues in the Russian Excel reports base on Open XML engine:
1. The code which fills XML document is executing on client side
2. The process in Excel takes from one fifth up to half of total generating report time due to inserting unnecessary namespace to each XML tag
The changes in the hotfix include:
1. Moving code execution to the server side and running it in CIL
2. Removing unnecessary namespaces from XML files
