Symptoms 

The Queue Viewer tool stops responding and returns an unhandled BlockedDeserializeTypeException when it tries to connect to any transport queue in Microsoft Exchange Server 2013.

Consider the following scenario:

  • You install KB5019758 (November 2022 security update) on any Exchange Server 2013-based server.

  • You navigate to the Exchange Toolbox and open the Queue Viewer.

  • You select any queue that’s displayed in the Viewer.

  • You select View Messages.

In this scenario, the following issues occur:

  • The Toolbox window does not open the selected queue. Instead, it displays a call stack and the following error message

      "Microsoft Exchange Critical Error."

  • When you double a queue, the following error message is displayed:

             "MMC has detected an Error in a snap-in and will unload it."

 To fix this issue, install the following security update:
