Note: The Internet Explorer 11 desktop application will be retired and go out of support on June 15, 2022 (for a list of what's in scope, see the FAQ). The same IE11 apps and sites you use today can open in Microsoft Edge with Internet Explorer mode. Learn more here.

Spelling checker dictionaries are now available for Internet Explorer 10 Release Preview on computers that are running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1).

More Information

You can download specific spelling checker dictionaries to enable spelling checking and automatic correction in your language and locale. These dictionaries are available only through the Manage Add-ons dialog box in Internet Explorer.

After installing a specific spelling checker dictionary, it may be necessary to restart the browser.

Note To open the Manage Add-ons dialog box, open Internet Explorer, click the Tools button in the upper-right corner of Internet Explorer, and then click Manage add-ons.

More information for customers on corporate networks

The availability of spelling checker dictionaries in corporate networks is determined by the network administrators. If no dictionaries are available, check that an Internet connection is available and working. Then, request your network administrator to approve the spelling checker dictionary packages or to make the package available on the network.
